Welcome. On this website, you can expect to find real food recipes, herbal preparations to replace many of the products that you probably have around your house, and instructions on how to do it all from scratch. You will find information about Ayurveda, a holistic health system that predates modern medicine, and recipes that can be tailored to your unique constitution. You’ll be encouraged to take charge of your health, and naturally, you can do-it-yourself.
This site was created in 2013 while I was studying in India. I knew that I wanted to help people access the wisdom of ancient Ayurveda in a practical fashion. For me, cooking was the way that I began to integrate the knowledge of Ayurveda into my own life. I began to understand the qualities of the foods that I cook and the ways that foods relate to the different energies of the body.
I have been a Massage Therapist for over 13 years, and have been studying Ayurveda for nearly as long. I have trained in Ayurvedic body therapies in India and the United States. After all conventional methods did not work, I credit Ayurveda for my recovery from severe allergies, chronic eczema, and asthma. When I discovered that I had developed an aggressive stage IV breast cancer, I used Ayurvedic therapies and meditation to support my health while I underwent chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. It offered gentle but powerful support in a time that was filled with uncertainty and numerous side effects as a result of western medical treatments. My illnesses have been incredible teachers, and I feel very fortunate be here to share my experiences.
I support the Health At Every Size approach. Everyone is deserving of quality care and body respect, no matter their size, age, race, ethnicity, gender, dis/ability, sexual orientation, or religion. All are welcome here. ❤
